In the shadow of Thursday's Bowl Championship Series title game, Texas looks to
take out their frustration from being snubbed from that game on Ohio State
tonight in the Fiesta Bowl. The Longhorns finished in a three-way tie atop the
Big 12 South division, but was left out of the conference championship because
Oklahoma was higher in the BCS standings, even though Texas defeated the Sooners
by 10 points. In turn Oklahoma pounded Missouri for the Big 12 title and
received an invitation to play Florida in the BCS Championship game, and now
Texas is 8.5-point favorites playing for nothing more than a win in the Fiesta
Bowl. Texas opened as 10.5-point favorites at Pinnacle and the line has
decreased after the betting systems have triggered four positive Smart money
moves on Ohio State and one Steam move. The Smart money moves have come from Bet
Jamaica (+8.15 units), BetOnline (+10.92 units), Catalina (+4.09 units) and
Skybook (+0.48 units), and the Steam move was from Bet Jamaica (+13.20 units).
The Longhorns are receiving 67% of the spread bets.
It's a quiet night on the professional hardwood but two of the five games have
triggered some intriguing plays. One of the games is between the Kings and the
Nets. New Jersey opened at 4-point favorites at Pinnacle, and has moved to -4.5
at most sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights. The Nets are receiving 66% of
the spread bets, but the betting systems have triggered a Smart money alert on
the Kings at WagerWeb (+0.20 units) and a Steam move at Catalina (+12.20 units).
Nets starting guard Devin Harris is questionable for tonight's game after
missing Saturday's game with a sore right hamstring. The other matchup drawing
some attention is the Raptors visiting the Bucks. The Bucks are 8.5-point
favorites at most sportsbooks, and -9 at a few others, despite only receiving
37% of the spread bets. This has triggered a few betting systems including a
Steam move from Catalina (+12.20 units). The Raptors might be without Jermaine
O'Neal and Jose Calderon after both missed Sunday's game with injuries.
